 Description

GROWTH BEGINS
FROM THE
GROUND UP.
DIG DEEP.
Musselwhite Mine is a fly-in, fly-out operation located 500 km north of Thunder Bay in
northwestern Ontario. You will work and live at the mine site in a modern camp facility
that includes a full gym, sauna, recreation centre, and activities. Wherever you call home,
a travel allowance will be provided to reach our charter service in Thunder Bay, which will
take you to and from the mine site.

Safety Leader
Reporting directly to the Safety Coordinator, you will promote, communicate, coordinate,
and implement activities to improve and maintain the highest levels of safety across our
operation. You will be an active resource within the workplace, synthesizing and
supporting both legislated regulations and Musselwhite standards/procedures.
Ideally, you have a university degree or college diploma and achievement of or
progressing towards your CRSP designation. Underground Common Core and Train the
Trainer accreditations would be an asset. You have a minimum of five years of
experience working in a similar role in an industrial environment, preferably within the
mining industry, as well as active involvement in workplace safety training, and
participation in joint health and safety committees. Three years of experience leading
and/or supervising personnel through project work would be beneficial.
You are highly proficient in MS Office and safety software applications, and have
extensive knowledge in emergency preparedness, accident investigation processes, risk
assessment, and the Occupational Health & Safety Act. You are influential and have
developed strong working relationships with various government representatives and
auditors. The schedule for this position is seven days on, seven days off, working 12-hour
shifts.
