| Description |
 Lake of the Woods District Hospital MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST II Lake of the Woods District Hospital is currently seeking a Mental Health Therapist II to join the Early Years Enhancement program. The ideal candidate will provide wide-ranging mobile outreach support to Pregnant and/or parenting women who are concerned about their drug/opiate use. This position requires a proactive individual able to plan, anticipate needs and take responsibility for resolving matters independently. QUALIFICATIONS: • Recognized Degree in Social Work • Must be a registered member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers • Use of own vehicle for work • Experience providing Case Management Services to a complex client group to remove barriers to service • Completion of or willing to obtain Suicide Intervention/ prevention certificate and the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health Opiate On-Line Course • Certification in First Aid/CPR • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to function independently as well as able to work well with others as part of a multidisciplinary team • Awareness of, and maintain professional boundaries • Demonstrated ability to interact with clients using a nonjudgmental approach • Ability to foster and maintain relationships with other community agencies • Demonstrates knowledge and appreciation of First Nations culture • Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention, or willing to obtain • Knowledge and work experience in working with women and addictions is preferred • Ability to communicate in Ojibway or Cree is considered an asset • Ability to work flexible hours. • Reliable attendance record in previous/current employment Please send LWDH application form in confidence, with resume, on or before January 28, 2013, to: HUMAN RESOURCES Lake of the Woods District Hospital 21 Sylvan Street West, Kenora, ON P9N 3W7 Fax: (807) 468-3939 • E-mail: charris@lwdh.on.ca
