 AVENUE II COMMUNITY PROGRAM SERVICES (THUNDER BAY) INC. Since 1984 Avenue II has supported adults with developmental disabilities to live independently in their own home, complete activities of daily living, to access and participate in community based activities and/or to access and acquire employment.
MANAGER
OF
SUPPORT SERVICES
(36 HOURS PER WEEK MINIMUM)
Reporting to the General Manager of Support Services the position will be responsible for the day to day management of the delivery of support services to individuals with a development disability. Qualifications - Minimum of an Undergraduate Degree in Social Services or a Diploma in Human Services (supply proof of education) or equivalent work experience related to supporting people with a developmental disability. Minimum of 3 years management experience with progressive responsibility in a unionized environment. Demonstrated supervision skills of management and unionized staff. Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidates will be expected to work a flexible schedule which includes a on-call rotation.
CASUAL SUPPORT WORKERS Reporting to the Manager of Support Services the successful applicants will provide support to adults with developmental disabilities to live independently in their own home, complete activities of daily living and to participate in their community. Qualifications - Minimum of secondary education, Developmental Service Worker Diploma preferred, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The successful candidate will be expected to be available for nights, weekends and statutory holidays. Both positions require: Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance, criminal records check (Vulnerable Sector), and a valid First Aid Certificate For more information please visit www.avenueii.com.
