Executive Director

Thunder Bay Community Foundation
Thunder Bay, ON

Full Time Position
The Thunder Bay Community Foundation, established in 1971,
actively promotes community philanthropy for the long-term benefit of
Thunder Bay and the surrounding area. Our goal is to create a more
vibrant, healthy and engaged community by building positive, lasting
relationships between donors and the worthy causes they support.
We're passionate about our community.
At the Thunder Bay Community Foundation we specialize in building
endowment funds to support the ever-changing needs of Thunder Bay.
Gifts to the Foundation are pooled and invested, and the income
earned is distributed as scholarships, bursaries and grants that
support community projects. Over the past three decades we have
distributed $3 million in grants, scholarships and bursaries. Today we
hold in trust approximately $11 million in assets. From this foundation
we distribute grants and scholarships and bursaries to worthy causes
and individuals in the District of Thunder Bay.
We are looking for an executive director who is excited to work in the
critical field of not-for-profit philanthropy. The successful candidate
enjoys working with a committed board of trustees with a three
pronged vision of growing our asset base through the attraction of new
donors, developing and strengthening our relationships with current
donors and managing the administration of the foundation office. This
is a permanent, full-time position.
The successful candidate will have a strong connection to, and a solid
understanding of Thunder Bay. Their key strengths will be their written
and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability in developing and
maintaining relationships with a wide variety of donors.
Ideally, the candidate will have experience in the areas of philanthropy
and small-office management and coordination. A detailed job
description may be found on the foundation website.
